What is the Audi Advanced Key?
Audi puts a premium on comfort and ease of use. This is why all new models we display have keyless entry and starting. This allows you to get into your car and start driving, all while keeping your key fob in your purse or pocket.
The system is controlled by proximity sensors located in the doors, trunks and key fobs. Here are a few things you need to be aware of Audi Advanced Key:
1. Proximity Detection
An Audi with proximity detection enables you to start and enter your car without ever having to take the key from your pocket or purse. This system lets you unlock your car's doors and trunk as well as the engine by a single click of the sensor button on the key.
A sound-based sensor is also referred to as a capacitive sensor, is able to detect the presence of objects around by using an acoustic signal. The sensors use an oscillator to generate an electrical signal, which is transmitted through the air and picked up by the microphone, which then converts it into an audio file. The audio files are examined to determine their similarity and proximity. When they are close, the system will send a wake-up message to the key. It will also send an ID signal matching the vehicle.
Proximity detection is only the first step to an easier and more enjoyable driving experience. The Audi advanced key comes with remote start capabilities which gives you the ability to start your vehicle from outside the range of your key FOB. This is useful when you are loading groceries into the boot, locking your children in their seats, or packing for a trip with the family.
Audi pre sense basic is a security feature that helps you avoid accidents by taking action prior to a collision occurs. It combines the data of various other systems, such as the front camera and radar sensors from Audi side assist, to calculate the likelihood of a collision and alert drivers. It also allows automatic braking when speeds are up to 250 km/h (155.3) and notify the driver by displaying messages in the head-up and virtual cockpit display.

2. Authentication
When you press the key fob's lock button, the Audi advanced key system communicates with your car's sensors. This sends a confirmation code to the computer in the car, which confirms that it's a valid fob. This safeguards against any unauthorized access to the vehicle without the proper key fob.
It also enables drivers to start their vehicles using the key fob inside their pocket or purse. Audi's advanced key system uses proximity sensors inside the trunk lid, doors and key fob. The sensors open the doors when the key fob is in close proximity to the vehicle (about five feet). Then, when you pull the door handle or open the trunk the vehicle detects your key and begins the engine.
You can also utilize the key fob in order to trigger the push-button feature of your vehicle. If the key fob is in of your purse or pocket you can press the Start/Stop button integrated in the center console to start the engine. The car's sensors will confirm the authenticity of the key fob and start the engine once they've confirmed it.
The Audi advanced key system also has a keyless entry feature that allows you to unlock your car's doors by pressing the handle on the outside of the door. It's a fantastic feature to use when you have hands full or are wearing gloves. For example, when you're carrying groceries or kids in the car. The system also has an option to release the trunk, that lets you unlock the trunk by the kick gesture, a helpful feature when you're carrying a lot on your hands.

3. Keyless Entry
A keyless entry system is an amazing convenience, especially when you're carrying kids, groceries or other equipment. You can open your vehicle by simply touching a sensor or button located on the handle of the door (some models also have this technology in the lock). If you're carrying the key fob, it will also send a signal to activate the sensors of the vehicle to let it know you're nearby and your finger is firmly at the button. This will stop unauthorized use of the vehicle by making sure only you are able to open its doors.
Another feature that is often included with keyless entry systems is the possibility to remote start your car without a key. Sensors mounted in the trunk or tailgate, and sometimes in the doors of the vehicle are employed to accomplish this. These sensors will unlock the doors and start the engine of the vehicle if the fob is within 5 feet. Then, you can press the button to start your car. This is a great method to warm your car prior to when you leave for work or when it is cold outside.
Some of the most advanced variations of keyless entry don't need the use of a key fob. These cars can be unlocked and reopened using a smartphone app. This is a great option for business owners or families who want to give their employees an easy way to use company vehicles. Certain keyless entry systems can even remember the driver’s preferred seating position or cabin temperature. This can be a huge time saver when you're driving advanced key audi towards the parking area.
Some of the more sophisticated variations of keyless entries systems come with a touch-activated rear hatch function that will automatically close and secure your cargo space with a single wave of your foot. This technology is available in many Audi vehicles, and, based on the model, it may be included as a standard feature or as a paid upgrade. Be aware that these systems aren't impervious to attack and can be manipulated by thieves who have skills or knowledge.
4. Push-Button Start
Unlike many competing vehicle brands, Audi does not offer remote start on its vehicles that are manufactured in factory capacity. However, the company offers a different option with the same features as remote start. It's called the Audi Advanced Key.
This feature is not a remote start system but it's a great option for those who want to start their car without having to insert keys. With this feature, you are able to unlock your Audi A4's doors or start the engine by pressing the button. This button is located where you normally will find the ignition on a conventional vehicle.
To activate this feature, you need to have your key fob in your pocket and close enough to your car. Sensors in the trunk and door handles will begin to activate when you and your key fob are within approximately five feet of the vehicle. Once you have the correct code and a clear signal the car will be able to lock or start the car.
With the push of an button, you are able to quickly enter your Audi A4 and begin driving without the need to fumble around in your pockets or purse for the keys. This feature is perfect for people who spend much time in the parking lot and can be useful if you want to quickly warm up your vehicle for a commute or to run some errands.
When you get in your car the system continues to communicate with your key fob. This is done using encrypted signals to avoid hacking. It also provides a Keyless Go card as a backup, which is credit-card sized and can be used to unlock your vehicle in case the key fob gets lost or is malfunctioning.
If your vehicle is equipped with the Audi Advanced Key and you have trouble getting it to start, there may be a problem with the key or vehicle. Your local Audi dealer can help you with this. They can carry out a procedure in the user's manual which will fix keys and the vehicle.
